Baek Dohyun (白導鉉) is a photographer and image maker based in Seoul, working in both commercial photography and fine art alongside research into AI as a creative medium. Through the lens of image literacy — visualising text and reading images as text — his practice unfolds against the shifting validity of photography in an age when its indexicality is increasingly unsettled.
Baek's photographs function as sculptural material, moving beyond the 'wall' through architectural installation. Where the real people in his staged portraits become entangled with fiction, the photographs speak for themselves, standing autonomously as counterparts that face the viewer.
